ABOUT ME
I’m a bulbous plant that belongs to the lily family. I’m well known for my spicy, pungent flavour, and have been used for both culinary medicinal purposes for thousands of years. I am excellent for maintaining the health of blood vessels and of the heart, due to my high allicin content. I am also one of the best immune boosting natural foods.

Did you know?
I have properties that can thin the blood, similar to the effect of aspirin
I'm best eaten
Cooked, either sauteed into stews, or lightly steamed. If eaten raw, I can have an emetic effect, so small doses are best.
I can be enjoyed
Crushed with parsley and olive oil, spread onto bread and backed to give that famous ‘garlic bread’ flavour
